: Superficial Radiation Therapy is a type of low-energy, X-ray radiation. Image-Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy (IG-SRT) uses ultrasound in combination with low-energy radiation. The ultrasound images let you see the exact size of the cancer to ensure you target the treatment area with the precise dose. These images also help you monitor the progress of treatment, showing the cancer shrinking and going away after each treatment. In many cases, a simple series of IG-SRT treatments can provide patients excellent clinical results for non-melanoma skin cancer.
